01 the beginning

In the past year, that is, 2019 is the first year of the rise of domestic databases, a large number of domestic database products broke into our line of sight. At present, the domestic database market presents a new situation of letting a hundred flowers blossom. With the development of domestic databases so far, we eliminate the concept of complete self-research or with the help of open source. How many products are there in the domestic database market at present? 58, I spent some time on the Internet to collect information on various products, due to the personal level and search methods are limited, the number of "58" is only a rough calculation, it is certain that the actual number will be much larger than this number. According to Motianlun database ranking (https://www.modb.pro/dbrank?cyn), the products of domestic database heat in TOP5 in March 2020 are TiDB, DM, OceanBase, GaussDB and PolarDB in turn. From the heat curve, the product that has always occupied the first position since 2020 is the sharp increase in heat in the two months after TiDB,OceanBase reached the top of TPCC (October 2019), which is currently in the third place in China.

Let's take a look at the situation of foreign databases, here refer to the statistics from DB-Engines, the difference between Mo Tianlun ranking and DB-Engines is no longer explained here, the specific difference can refer to an article I summarized last year, "Database Product ranking". The products of foreign TOP5 are Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MongoDB in turn. It can be seen that the first three products are very anxious, and in terms of heat, they are still ahead of PostgreSQL and MongoDB, which ranks fourth and fifth.
