­Eclipse 4.9 official version has been released. Let's take a look at what new features 4.9 brings-- add a new "Minimap" enabling method similar to the outline view: Window > Show View > Other, and then select General > Minimap in the Show View dialog box.

­improved "breadcrumb navigation (Breadcrumb)" in the Dark theme

The breadcrumb navigation in the ­Java editor now uses a black background for dark themes and a flattened style for daytime themes.

­Project Explorer can display problematic tags on the project hierarchy

­when using Project Explorer's Projects Presentation > Hierarchical mode, error tags in child projects are now reported to the parent node, including parent projects and folders in other projects. With this feature, we can easily detect errors and browse for errors from Project Explorer when the project hierarchy is collapsed.

­create a Quick fix of an abstract method

­the existing Quick fix for creating missing methods has been improved-- creating abstract method declarations. This option is displayed only if the target class is abstract.

­other regular upgrad

­upgrade Ant to version 1.10.5

­upgrade Batik to version 1.10

­Linux file system provider has millisecond precision
