Solution:

1. Open cmd to find your own git installation path

> where gitC:\ Program Files\ Git\ cmd\ git.exe

2. Open the vscode settings and add the following in the user configuration on the right:

"git.path": "C:\ Program Files\\ Git\\ cmd\\ git.exe"

Override the default git.path configuration. The following parameters need to be the same as your git installation path. Do not enter the git-bash.exe path.

Note: the configuration of vscode is actually a json file, so the user configuration needs to add a comma to all other line configurations except the last line.
