Due to the recent computer blue screen, I need a U disk to make a boot disk. As a result, the U disk was inserted into my computer. I found that the U disk was encrypted with BitLocker before, and I forgot the BitLocker password. I had to go to my old computer to find the "BitLocker Drive encryption recovery key". Fortunately, my old computer had saved it before.

My BitLocker Drive encryption recovery key is as follows:

The recovery key is used to recover data on BitLocker-protected drives.

To verify that the password is the correct recovery password, compare these tokens with the ones displayed on the recovery screen.

Taking my flagship version of windows7 as an example, I initially followed the following steps to cancel BitLocker and delete the BitLocker password. The result is not successful, my initial specific steps are as follows: (although it is useless, but I can also share the hole I stepped on!)

1. Double-click "removable disk (H)", that is, the locked U disk.

Click "I forgot my password"; as I said earlier, I forgot my password, and only the text document "BitLocker Drive encryption recovery key" is still there.

2. Click "Type the recovery key"; use the recovery key to unlock the drive.

3. Enter the recovery key; I got the key earlier and sent it out.

4. Click "manage BitLocker".

5. Click "Select options to manage: delete the password for this drive" and make a "this password is the only way to unlock this drive. Please add other unlocking methods before deleting the password." Error prompt.

Although I use Windows7 for actual combat, if you are Windows XP, Windows8, Windows10 can also be used, the principles are the same, can only say that some operational details are slightly different.

1. Open the Control Panel

There are many ways to open the "Control Panel". You can open it in the start menu, search can be found, and you can run commands. I won't talk about it here.

2. Click "BitLocker Drive encryption"

3. Click "close BitLocker"

4. In the pop-up window, click "decrypt the drive"

5. Then "decrypting..." pops up.

When the progress bar reaches 100%, even if the real decryption is successful. The time of decryption also depends on the memory capacity, such as the blogger's U disk is 32G, previously estimated to store a lot of data, so the decryption progress is very slow.

7. What the USB flash drive looks like after successful decryption of BitLocker, as shown below:

When we insert a flash drive into another computer, it will also look like this, and there is no need to enter a password or BitLocker recovery key.
