There is a default evaluation period of 60 days after ESXi installation. Users can switch from evaluation mode to license mode at any time during the 60-day evaluation period. Vsphere licenses are calculated on the basis of the number of cpu (1 cpu for 2-core and 4-core cpu)

The license key assigned is not fixed to the esxi host, and the esxi host can be assigned in any combination. For example, the vsphere license key for 10 cpu can be assigned to any of the following combinations of esxi hosts

2 4cpu hosts and 1 2cpu host

1 8cpu host and 1 2cpu host

Server selection: the server can choose dedicated servers: IBM, DELL, HP, or assembled.

Hardware selection:

1.ESXi can only be installed and run on 64-bit x86cpu servers

2.ESXi5.5 requires hosts to have at least 2 cores of cpu (select the same vendor intel or amd for multiple esxi networks, otherwise the advanced features provided by vsphere are not supported)

3.ESXi5.5 needs at least the physical memory of 4gb

4. To support 64-bit virtual machines, x64cpu must support and enable hardware virtualization (vt-x or rvi)

5.ESXi5.5 requires one or more Gigabit or 10gb Ethernet controllers

Any combination of 6.1or more controllers: a basic scsi controller or raid controller.
