Recently, 3D VDI users reported that after upgrading Windows 10 from v1803 to v1809, the mouse pointer was lost after entering 3D VDI, but the function is still available. It's another pain in the balls. Check the Citrix official website, it is already Citrix known issue, and there are many other known issue on Windows 10 v1809. Issue 7-Issue Description

Mouse pointer is not visible within a v1809 HDX 3D pro session. All operations inside the session are to be performed by keyboard using shortcuts. This issue is seen with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop 7.15 only. This issue is not seen with later versions of XenApp/XenDesktop.

Problem Cause

A change in mouse functionality API's is causing this issue.

Solution

Citrix is working with Microsoft to resolve this issue. As a work around, users could enable mouse pointer trails by following below steps:

Click Start and type 'mouse settings'.Click on' Additional mouse options'.Click on 'Pointer Options' tab.Select the checkbox' Display pointer trails'.Click Apply and Ok.

As an operation and maintenance staff, either help the customer change it himself, or give the customer a document and let the customer change it himself. But there should also be option3: group Policy changes this configuration, google, there is indeed this registry key value.

Registry key path: HEY_CURRENT_USER\ Control Panel\ Mouse

Then create a new String Value and name it: MouseTrails

Fill in a key value. The range of key value is 1-7.

1-Minimum length trails.

4-Medium length trails.

7-Maximum length trails.

If you want to turn off the display of pointer tracks, set this value to 0.
