Google Stadia offers a service to play games on televisions and mobile devices without a console or PC, a leap to cloud games. Google is usually the biggest fish in any pond, but in cloud games, it competes with other heavyweights such as XCloud (MSFT), Ge Force Now (NVDA) and Play StationNow (SNE).

Like all these services, Stadiagames runs on powerful data center servers, which makes it possible to render and stream demanding games to lightweight hardware such as mobile phones. Sometimes you use a custom sight distance controller, sometimes you don't. Google also provides developers with a platform and tools to create Stadia-optimized versions of games; you subscribe to additional features such as 4K and free gifts.

If you think Stadia sounds messy, you're not alone. Fortunately, we can help break through the hype and explain what it promises but still lacks.

When Google first announced Stadia in GDC 2019, it promoted many of its ambitions, such as crowd gaming and national sharing. But while all this may work out in the end, for now, this is a rather low-key version of the corporate vision. This is common in the gradual introduction of these services.

For example, Stadia now works only on Wi-Fi; the speed and quality of network connections are so important for a good cloud gaming experience that all companies that offer to play non-local mobile games over cellular networks are very cautious. So, about the excitement of 5G. Google is a latecomer to cloud games, so it is still in the basic operational stage, and others are improving the experience. This partially offsets the advantages of its vast data center network.

Pricing for Stardia may be a little messy, mainly because Google hasn't started offering subscription-only or free plans, only hardware packages. It was launched with a square version, and then stopped, including a limited edition blue controller, a Chromecast super lens device, a three-month StadiaPro,Bungie full Destiny 2 experience, the first user name and pass, and gave a friend three months.

This has evolved into a $129129 (£119,900) Premiere version with a white Stadia controller, ChromecastUltra and a three-month Pro subscription. In mid-January 2020, Verizon announced that it would bundle the Stadia Premiere version with the newly ordered high-end Fios gigabit broadband plan from January 29th.

Google did not provide a time frame for launching independent subscription programs in more countries or regions. The latest Stadiaappon2 on Feb. 27th shows that there will be a "professional pass" that people who want to pay for the service can start using it without having to buy the entire version. It is also mentioned that the free service level may limit how many players can access the Internet to ensure that paying players are not affected.

Stadia is located in North America (plus Puerto Rico and Alaska, but excluding Hawaii or Guam) and parts of Western Europe and Scandinavia, including the United Kingdom.

Currently, after a login quarantine, the Stadia game store can only get one Premiere account. Games can only be obtained from Google.

The price of the game is usually the price of the publisher and is sold only through Google, so if you are a subscriber, you really need to pay attention to those discounts.

If you decide to cancel your StadiaPro subscription or choose not to subscribe, it will revert to the Stadia base three months after your free subscription, so you can still play any Stadia game that you have paid for. However, you can't access any free games or content, and you can get professional subscriptions from PERK. Google keeps your progress and additional history so that you can re-subscribe and choose where you stay.

If you return the entire Premiere hardware package within 15 days, you will lose the three-month trial period of StadiaPro and the above free gifts. The game can be refunded within two weeks of purchase, and the game time is less than two hours.

On the other hand, however, what happens if the game publisher "cancels". We have all seen the disappearance of a large number of IP subscription plans such as Netflix and AmazonPrime (I have not forgotten the doctor who disappeared at midnight), and some games already know that they will enter and exit the subscription service. If you spend money on games, Google intends to maintain the usability of games, but this is a bit too vague to consider policy.

In the current state, you can officially play Stadia games on selected Android phones-Google's Pixel 2, Pixel 3, Pixel 3A and Pixel 4; as of February 20, Samsung GalaxyS8, S8Plus, S8 activities, Note 8, S9, S9Plus, Note 9, S10, S10Plus, Note 10, S20Plus, S20 UltraAsusROG2 and Razer phone 2.

It is also suitable for desktops on mobile phones and iPad, televisions (with ChromecastUltra and Stadia controllers), laptops, and Chrome browsers or ChromeOS devices. Just like the iOS app, you can't buy games in it, you can only manage games. However, this does not mean that people have not successfully run them on unsupported devices, including Nintendo switches and Google phones.

Since its launch, Google has extended its controller support to any HID-compliant controller other than its Stadia controller ($69 or $59), including many

Xbox controller and double shock 4. It supports televisions through Stadia controllers (via Wi-Fi) and ChromecastUltra; the service requires at least Android6.0/iOS11 or tablets running ChromeOS77. You can connect to the controller via USB or optionally via Bluetooth, and Stadia does support keyboard and mouse playback using Chrome.

Stadia itself still runs wirelessly only on Wi-Fi, and there is currently no cellular connection, although you can try to use your phone as a hotspot, but wired Ethernet connectivity is still the preferred method for all these services. Google sets minimum bandwidth requirements for quality levels of 10 megabits per second (720p), 20Mbps (1080p) and 35Mbps (4K). As for the use of data, the company said that either of the two resolutions could absorb 4.5GB, 12.6GB or 20GB per hour. If your connection is a little unstable or falling, Google buffers the game state for a few minutes, giving you a chance to fix it.

On January 16th, the Google Stadia team worked out a plan for the first three months of 2020. As more features are introduced, the team is expected to launch 120 games this year. Features promised for the next step include extended gaming capabilities through stadia.com, including 4K support, Google-assisted improvements and wireless games with Stadia controllers

The update to the Stadia app on February 27th shows that home sharing, you manage the flow and game capture part of the code, which may mean that the feature will come soon.

On Monday, Stadia users on Reddit can access their game captures online on Stadia.com/Capture. Google says it is slowly rolling out the feature, which means some users can access it, while others will have to wait until Wednesday.
