Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--

Introduction

In the previous article, we defined a DNS name for Office Online Server (OOS), which we defined as oos.itsoul.cn. In this series of articles, we will use a simple scenario.

Certificate request

In this section, we will describe the basic steps for using Exchange Management Center (ECP) to create a new certificate request for Exchange Server 2016, including the Office Online server name.

Open Exchange Management Center (EAC) Click Server, then click Certificate Click + start a new certificate request on the initial page, select create Certificate request from Certificate Authority, then click next to define a friendly name for the certificate, we will use MontrealLAB-Public Certificate, click next on the next page (wildcard certificate), just click next. We will use SAN (subject alternate name) certificates and define up to four (4) names instead of wildcard certificates. Define the Exchange Server that will host the certificate request on the next page, and then click next. To list the visit and URL on the page, simply click next to define the name that the new certificate will use. Then click next. Fill in the information about the company, and then click next.

After creating a new certificate, we need to export the public certificate from Exchange Server to the new Office Online Server (OOS). When logging in to Exchange Server, we can use the following steps:

Open Exchange Management Center (EAC) Click Server, and then click Certificate to select a server with a public certificate from the Select Server field, and then select a certificate from the list. Click..., and then export the Exchange certificate project on this page, providing the UNC path to export the certificate and the password that will be used during the import process on Office Online Server.

The final step is to move the exported certificate to a folder on Office Online Server (OOS). Log in to Office Online Server (OOS), right-click the windows button, then click run, and type mmc.

Click File, then add / remove snap-ins, select a certificate, and then click add. In the new window, select the computer account, and then click next, and then click finish. To go back to the add or remove snap-in window, just click OK. Expand the certificate, right-click the individual, click all tasks, and then import. On the Welcome to the Certificate Import Wizard page, click next. On the file page you want to import, click Browse. Select the certificate we copied to the server (figure 04).

Note: be sure to select all files (. To find the files exported on the Exchange Server

Enter the password defined during the export process in Exchange in Private key Protection, leave the default settings under Import options, and then click next. Leave the default settings in the certificate store, put all certificates in the store below, and list individuals below, click next. On the last page of the wizard, click finish, and a new dialog box will be displayed indicating that the import was successful. Just click OK.

OOS Server-initial configuration for Office Online Server to run requires defining an internal URL, an external URL, and a certificate to be used by the server. The easiest way to configure Office Online Server is to use the following cmdlet

Note: "" is required when a friendly name is defined on PowerShell.

New-OfficeWebAppsFarm-InternalURL https:// URLInterna-ExternalURL https:// URLExterna-CertificateName

By default, if we try to test Office Online Server by typing URL, we will get a 404 error

The 404 error above is not a misconfiguration during installation, but a standard setting. In order to display the initial page of Office Online Server, you must change OpenFromURLEnabled to $True, and you can do this using the following cmdlet. We list the current settings before changing them

Set-OfficeWebAppFarm-OpenFromURLEnabled:$ True

After the change, the user can try to access the Office Online server and display the initial page, from which you can create a link for the Internet location or UNC.

A simple test is to provide the UNC path to the document on the file share. In this exercise, we downloaded the file (\ mtloos01\ share) on the shared folder of the first .docx document (the document name is Microsoft Access 2010 Product Guide.docx) that we can find on the Microsoft website. To test, simply enter the UNC path (including the document) in the first field of the Office Online Server home page, then click the create link (figure 11), and the result is a URL that can be sent to another user who does not have an installed office to test it.

The administrator can click Test this Link on the same page, and Word Online will display the contents of the file, as shown in figure 12.

Conclusion

In the second article, we looked at certificate configuration on Exchange and Office Online Server, and configured the Office Online Server initial page and some tests using UNC.
