Take downloading a small-scale map of Beijing as an example. The osm server is abroad, and the downloaded map will be a little slow.

After the data is downloaded, an .osm file will appear in the folder. Sometimes the suffix name of the file will have many parentheses, etc., just remove it, drag the .osm file to QGIS, select wgs84 in the reference coordinate system, and select all the layers. All layers can be displayed in QGIS.

In the properties of the layer, select the data source of the layer to be encoded as UTF-8, and then open the property sheet of the layer to see the attribute information of the layer.

On each of these layers, click Save as to save the layer in the commonly used shp format, etc.
