Move mailbox databases and logs in 3 steps

If the target database is already loaded, first unmount the mailbox database; migrate the target mailbox database; load the mailbox database

Uninstall mailbox database

Migrate mailbox databases and log files

The first step is to confirm the current location of the target mailbox database. Type a command.

Get-MailboxDatabase

Get-MailboxDatabase Identity Mailbaox51 | FL * PATH*

After the execution of the command

The first command, query all exchange mailbox databases in the organization

The second command, confirm the target database Mailbaox51 and log file path

Second, move the database and log files to the target folder. In this example, move to the destination folder "e:\ Archivemailbox"

Move-DatabasePath Identity ArchiveMailbox-EdbFilePath f:\ ArchiveMailbox\ ArchiveMailbox.edb-LogFolderPath f:\ ArchiveMailbox

Note: you cannot run this cmdlet on a replicated mailbox database. To move the path to the replication database, you must delete all replicas before you can perform the move operation. After the move operation is complete, you can add a copy of the mailbox database.

Note: before the migration, you can check the number of log files in the original location and compare them with the later ones to verify whether the migration was successful.

Step 3, confirm the location of the mailbox database and type the command:

Get-MailboxDatabase-Identity ArchiveMailbox | FL * PATH*

Load the database

So far, the migration is complete.
