It will be a great achievement when humans finally reach Mars, but travelers who set foot on the Red Planet for the first time may not stay there. In the end, however, NASA and other scientific groups around the world predict that we will colonize not only Mars but also other planets. In order to realize this dream, we need a place where interstellar travelers live.

With this in mind, NASA launched the 3D price "Habitat Challenge" and instructed a team of researchers and engineers to design homes for space travelers that could be created on demand using 3D printing hardware brought about by theoretical travel on Mars or another Earth-like planet. Now that the final phase of the competition is over, NASA has chosen its three favorite virtual anodes.

The competition is divided into three stages, each of which is divided into several specific tasks. These teams are currently in the final stages, and the newly completed virtual 3D construction has created three very unique habitats.

This part of the challenge is worth $100000 and is roughly split equally among the top three. The score of each project takes into account the integrity, efficiency, and scalability of the building, and the winner (at the top of this post) gets a high score for the stability of the design.

Looking ahead, the biggest test for these teams will be to catch up, which will force them to print small-scale creative versions in front of scientists and science enthusiasts. The event will be held in Illinois from May 1 to May 4 with a prize of 800000 pounds.

There is no guarantee that the first settlers on Mars will actually live in houses designed to mimic the team in this competition, but it is a good way for NASA to explore the possibilities of new habitats, possibly to find the engineers and designers it wants to work with when that day finally comes.
