The operating system originally installed in my computer is Windows XP SP2, disk C is in NTFS format, and disk F is also in NTFS format.

It is said on the Internet to put it under the fat32 partition, I now put it on the F disk (NTFS format), it can be tested.

I created a new Fedora11 directory under F disk, unzipped the images file inside Fedora-11-i386-DVD.iso and put it in the new fedora11 directory just now, in addition, extract the initrd.img and vmlinuz files in the isolinux folder and put them in the fedora11 directory, put the Fedora-11-i386-DVD.iso file in the fedora11 directory (see figure 2), and copy initrd.img and vmlinuz to the root directory of disk C.

To download GRUB4DOS, we only need the 2 files inside, decompress it and put grldr and menu.lst in the root directory of C disk.

Then modify the menu.lst and add at the end of the menu.lst

Title Install Fedora 11

Kernel (hd0,0) / vmlinuz

Initrd (hd0,0) / initrd.img

Open the root directory of disk C, find boot.ini (usually hidden), and add at the end

C:\ grldr=GRUB

Restart the system and select GRUB (see figure 3). Enter

Then select the final Install Fedora 11 (see figure 4) and you can go to the installation interface.

Enter the language selection. Chinese users choose to see figure 5.

The next step should be the choice of keyboard layout, the default is good, and then the next step is more important, choose the installation method, hard disk installation Fedora 11 select Hard drive (see figure 6).

This step is more important, for many beginners, do not know how to install Fedora 11 hard disk key, I put Fedora-11-i386-DVD.iso and related installation files in the fedora11 directory of F disk, so to find here, my F disk is / dev/sda10 partition. If you don't know, you can try it one by one from / dev/sda1. The address below is also important. Enter the path where the image file is installed, / fedora11/images/install.img (see figure 7).

Click OK to start the actual installation, there is another place to note below, if you want to keep the information on the original system, pay special attention to the following place, choose to establish a custom partition structure. (see figure 8)
