Using Flash Builder 4.5

Flash Builder has released several beta versions of Burrito, literally translated as "burrito", before it was officially released. According to Adobe, this will be a delicious pancake for developers. Flash Builder 4.5 integrates Flex SDK 4.5 and has done a lot of work on mobile development. The new version of Flex SDK not only brings new spark components, but also introduces multi-screen application development technology, which meets the needs of desktop development, Web development and mobile development. In addition, Flash Builder 4.5 has also made a lot of improvements in compilation performance and user experience, and it can be expected that the functionality of Flex will be greatly enhanced.

The installation of the program is relatively simple, just click the Next button all the time, and I won't go into details here.

Open the newly installed program and click File → New in the navigation menu, and you will find the following two additional options:

Flex Mobile Project: development based on Flex SDK Hero, using brand new Mobile UI components.

ActionScript Mobile Project: develop using pure ActionScript.

When creating the Flex Mobile Project, there is one more setup step, as shown in figure 1-7.

The options in figure 1-7 are described as follows:

Target platforms: indicates the platform to be supported, including Apple iOS, BlackBerry Tablet OS and Google Android. Among them, the development of BlackBerry Tablet OS application needs to install the development plug-in provided by RIM company.

Application template represents the program template, the default is View-Based Application, is a multi-screen structure of the program template, can greatly simplify the development process, here keep the default, strongly recommended not to change; select Blank, will create a blank program; Tabbed Application is a template designed for tablets.

Alongside Application template are two tabs, Permissions and Platform Settings, which are used to set the type and permissions of the platform, respectively.

In the Application settings tab, if Automatically reorient is checked, the automatic processing screen orientation is indicated. Slightly different from Flash CS5, the program can automatically relayout the interface elements to fully adapt to the screen orientation.

In addition, for mobile apps, Flash Builder 4.5 provides a simple interface simulator and supports a variety of mobile phones, which can be used to get an overview of how the program works. When you click Run to run the program, the dialog box shown in figure 1-8 pops up.

In the Launch method option group, On desktop means to run programs on the desktop from which you can select a phone model, while On device means to install and run directly on the device, followed by a list of all Android devices connected to the current PC.

Run the newly created Flex Mobile Project on the desktop and select the Google Nexus One interface, as shown in figure 1-9.

This simple simulator provides a Device menu with Rotato Left, Rotato Right and other items to simulate user behavior on mobile devices, and it is intuitive to test the effect.
