Simplified provisioning (thin):

Simplified configuration means that no matter how large the disk allocation is, the actual amount of storage occupied is the size currently used, that is, how much is used. When the client has input and output, VMkernel first allocates the required space and clears the IO, that is to say, if you use a compact configuration, you need to wait for space allocation and zeroing before the operation is completed. For applications with frequent IO calls, the performance will be degraded, although storage space will be saved.

That is, the size of the actual use will be allocated, and the maximum will not exceed the size of the actual hard disk space.

Thick setting delay zeroing:

The default creation format, which allocates the required space for the virtual disk during creation. No data retained on the physical device will be erased during creation, and there is no zeroing operation. When there is an IO operation, you need to wait for the zeroing operation to complete the IO.

That is, after the space is allocated, the write operation will be set to zero as needed.

Thick setting zero (thick):

Create a thick disk that supports the clustering feature. Allocate the required space for the virtual disk at creation time. And set the data retained on the physical device to zero. It may take longer to create disks in this format than other types of disks.

That is, a good allocation of space and zero operation, when there is an IO without waiting for any operation to be performed directly.
