Vlan aggregation (Vlan aggregation): commonly known as super (super) vlan. It means that multiple slave vlan in the same IP network segment are included under one master vlan, but only the master VLANif is configured with IP address, and each slave vlan uses the VLANif address of the master vlan as the gateway to achieve layer 3 interworking (ARP proxy). The purpose is to solve the waste of IP addresses and improve the flexibility of addressing.

After configuring the aggregation vlan, the network address, broadcast address and gateway address of the ordinary vlan mode can be used as the host address.

Super-vlan: can only be created on layer 3 switches, no physical switch ports can be added, only sub-vlan can be added.

Sub-vlan: can be created on layer 2 and layer 3 switches. Members are switch ports that connect users, and VLANif cannot be configured.

Let's take a look at the networking example. According to the regular vlan, the IP address of PC2 is a network address that cannot be used as a host address.

Specific configuration:

When configuring, you need to create a configuration sub-vlan before configuring super-vlan.

[Huawei-GigabitEthernet0/0/22] port link-type access

[Huawei-GigabitEthernet0/0/22] port default vlan 3

# configure the port to connect to host mode

[Huawei-vlan100] aggregate-vlan

# configure vlan 100to aggregate vlan

[Huawei-vlan100] access-vlan 2 to 3

# add vlan2 vlan3 to aggregate vlan

[Huawei-Vlanif100] arp-proxy inter-sub-vlan-proxy enable

# turn on the arp proxy function in vlan, otherwise there will be no layer 3 communication between vlan

[Huawei-Vlanif100] ip address 10.1.1.254 24

After the configuration is completed

PC 1 ping PC2 for testing

PC > ping 10.1.1.4
