­Ubuntu contributor Didier Roche revealed the latest development progress of the Ubuntu 17.10 (Artful Aardvark) system in a blog post shared today and said it was expected to be officially released later today. Ubuntu 17.10 took six months to develop, and Roche is mainly responsible for sharing the latest developments in the Unity user interface to the GNOME 3 desktop environment in the community. After the official release, the system will be equipped with GNOME 3.26.1 system by default and run the next generation of Wayland display server.

­Didier Roche said: "there are already more components and components in the Ubuntu system around GNOME technology. First, users need to install the unity-session installation package, and then after installing gnome-session, various GNOME elements will appear. After restarting and logging in, GDM will appear in front of you."
