This article introduces you how to migrate or upgrade to CDP-DC based on investment. The content is very detailed. Interested friends can refer to it for reference. I hope it can help you.

Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) Data Center Edition (CDP-DC) is the native version of Cloudera Data Platform. CDP-DC combines the best services and components of Cloudera Enterprise Data Hub and Hortonworks Data Platform Enterprise, as well as new features and enhancements added to the stack, to provide a best-in-class on-premises enterprise data platform. This unified distribution is a scalable and customizable platform on which you can safely run multiple types of workloads.

Enterprises invest countless hours and resources in their internal big data platforms. They create data pipes to aggregate data and then run various workloads on that data to make decisions using platforms like CDH and HDP. Cloudera recently announced a new version of CDP-DC 7.1.1 that allows customers to migrate or upgrade from their older CDH5 and HDD 2.6 clusters and enhance their big data experience by accessing new features to get more value from their data. The latest release brings new features and further enhancements that CDH5 and HDP2 customers have been expecting for some time. HPD2 customers can expect the following new features:

·OLAP high concurrency queries using Impala

Kudu's column data supports real-time predictive models

Ozone provides new object storage capabilities that separate compute and storage, paving the way for a transition to a private cloud architecture

·Ad hoc interactive SQL queries with Hue

·Powerful management with Cloudera Manager, scalable cluster management

Enterprise management for streaming messaging and support for monitoring and replication services

·Added encryption for static and dynamic data to make compliance and auditing easier

CDH5 customers can expect the following improvements:

·Easily manage policies for all data services with Ranger, reducing administrative burden and enabling multi-tenant data access

·Faster data warehouse queries and updates with Hive 3, making offloading workloads from silos more attractive

Ozone and HDFS provide new object storage capabilities that separate compute and storage, paving the way for a transition to a private cloud architecture

·Enhanced data lineage and improved traceability with Atlas

Enterprise management for streaming messaging and support for monitoring and replication services

·Added encryption for static and dynamic data to make compliance and auditing easier

The new release helps customers leverage their data assets based on the following dimensions:

Maximize investment: By investing in private cloud foundation CDP-DC, customers are investing in their data lifecycle. This base release provides the SDX data context layer with built-in authorization, governance, and security principles that serve as the foundation for a powerful analytics platform.

User Management Synchronizes users and groups defined in the corporate domain to CDP Control Panel via SAML Network Security By default, Kerberos, DNS, and TLS are enabled using hosted FreeIPA instances. Encryption Support Cloud Storage Native Static Storage Encryption and Transport Encryption with TLS SSO Enable SSO Access to All Web UIs Storage Security Easily map corporate user identities to cloud IAM roles with IDBroker and Ranger Upcoming RAZ Schema Manage structured metadata with Hive Metastore & Schema Registry

Customers can now continue to use applications and code that have been developed and tuned for many base versions and create optimized experiences with features such as workload isolation and compute storage decomposition using CDP private cloud.

Improved experience: The new version uses Impala and Hive3 to build high-performance SQL analytics. Integrated governance, security and unified policy management for Impala, Kudu and Hive with Ranger and Atlas. A comprehensive real-time streaming experience that includes stream processing, analytics, and operations management.

Unified architecture: A unified architecture that allows seamless interaction between public and private cloud form factors using the same interfaces and fabrics.

With all these great benefits, customers can consider converting existing platforms to CDP-DC platforms. There are two ways to get to the CDP-DC platform: migrate and upgrade.

Or upgrade from CDH5 or HDP2 cluster to CDP Private Cloud base CDP data center and gain the benefits of a unified platform. About how to migrate or upgrade to CDP-DC based on investment, I hope the above content can be of some help to everyone and learn more knowledge.
