Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--

This article mainly introduces how to use the IBM server diagnosis panel, has a certain reference value, interested friends can refer to, I hope you can learn a lot after reading this article, the following let Xiaobian take you to understand.

The IBM server generally has a server operator information panel (diagnosis panel), and the general hardware faults of the server will be prompted on the diagnosis panel, but these tips may only be a rough diagnosis of the fault and help the system administrator to better maintain.

1. Location of IBM X3650 M3 diagnostic panel:

Description:

Power control button and power indicator press this button to manually turn on and off the server, or wake up in power saving

The server in the state. The status of the power LED is as follows:

A, off: the alternating current is not turned on, or the power supply or indicator light itself is faulty.

B, fast flashing (four times per second): the server is turned off, but not ready to turn on. The power control button is disabled. About three minutes after the server is powered on to AC, the power control button is activated.

C, slow flicker (once per second): the server is turned off and ready to turn on. You can press the power control button to turn on the server.

D, light up: the server is on.

E. gradually darken until it goes out: the server is in a power-saving state. To wake up the server, press the power control button or use the IMM Web interface.

Note: if the indicator is off, it does not mean that there is no current in the server. The LED may have been burned out. To cut off all current in the server, you must disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.

● Ethernet icon indicator: this indicator lights up the Ethernet icon.

● Ethernet activity indicator: if any of these lights are lit, the server is connecting to the corresponding

The Ethernet LAN on the Ethernet port of the indicator is sending a signal or is receiving from the Ethernet LAN

The signal.

● message indicator: when this indicator is lit, it indicates that a general event has occurred. Some on the optical path diagnosis panel

Lights are also lit to help find errors.

● system error indicator: when it is lit, it indicates that a system error has occurred. On the optical path diagnosis panel

An LED is also lit to help find the error.

● release slide lock: slide the slide lock to the left operable optical path diagnostic panel, which is located in the operator information panel

In the back of.

● locator button and locator indicator: use this indicator to find the service in other servers with the naked eye

The device. It can also be used to prove the physical existence of trusted platform module (Trusted Platform Module,TPM).

Press this button to turn the indicator on or off locally. You can use IBM Systems Director to remotely

Turn on the LED.

Second, the IBM X3650 M3 diagnostic panel displays information.

Status

problem

Operation

BRD

Turn on the light

An error occurred on the motherboard.

1. Check the LED on the motherboard to determine the component that caused the error. The BRD indicator may be lit in the following situations:

● battery

● is missing PCI adapter card assembly

Failure of ● voltage regulator

2. Check the system event log for information about errors.

3. Replace all failed replaceable components or install missing replaceable components, such as batteries or PCI adapter card assemblies.

4. If the regulator fails, please replace the motherboard.

CNFG

Turn on the light

A hardware configuration error occurred.

CPU

Turn on the light

The failure of the microprocessor is indicated only when the CPU indicator is lit.

When both the CPU indicator and the CNFG indicator are lit, the microprocessor configuration is invalid.

1. Determine whether the CNFG indicator is also lit. If the CNFG indicator is off, the microprocessor is malfunctioning.

2. If the CNFG indicator is lit, the microprocessor configuration is invalid.

DASD

Turn on the light

A hard drive error occurred. Hard disk drive happened.

Barrier or absence.

1. Check the LED on the hard drive to find the driver whose status indicator is lit, and then reinstall the hard drive.

2. Reinstall the hard drive backplane.

3. If the error persists, replace the following components in the order shown:

A. replace the hard drive.

B. Replace the hard disk drive backplane

FAN

Turn on the light

The fan has failed, either running too slowly, or the fan has been removed. The TEMP LED may also be lit.

1. Reinstall the fault air indicated by the indicator light lit near the fan interface on the motherboard

Fan.

2. Replace the faulty fan indicated by the indicator light lit near the fan interface on the motherboard.

LOG

Turn on the light

Error message has been written to the system event log

Check the IMM system event log and system error log for information about errors. Replace all components indicated in the error log.

MEM

Turn on the light

A memory error occurs only when the MEM indicator is lit.

When both the MEM indicator and the CNFG indicator are lit, the memory configuration is invalid.

1. Determine whether the CNFG indicator is also lit. If so, run the memory test program to determine the problem.

A. If the test reports a memory error, replace the fault DIMM indicated by the light lit on the motherboard.

B. If the test reports that the memory configuration is invalid, reinsert the DIMM into the slot with the supported configuration.

2. If the CNFG indicator is not lit, then one of the following conditions should occur:

A. The server does not boot and the DIMM fault indicator is lit.

B. Check whether there are PFA log events in the system event log (SEL).

C. Reinstall DIMM.

D. If the problem persists, move the DIMM to a different slot.

E. If the DIMM indicator corresponding to this new DIMM slot on the motherboard is lit, replace the DIMM.

F. If the DIMM indicator corresponding to the original DIMM slot on the motherboard is lit, replace the motherboard (trained technical service personnel only).

G, the server is booted, the failed DIMM is disabled and its corresponding indicator light is lit.

H. If both DIMM lights are lit, check the system event log to find the PFA for one of the DIMM, and then replace the DIMM. Otherwise, replace both DIMM.

If there is only one DIMM corresponding to the light, please replace the DIMM.

Re-enable the DIMM slot in the server firmware settings.

NMI

An unshielded interrupt occurred or the NMI button was pressed.

Check the system event log for information about errors.

OVER SPEC

The server was shut down due to a power overload on one of the power channels. The power supply exceeds the maximum rating.

PCI

An error occurred on the PCI bus or motherboard. The additional LED next to the faulted PCI slot is lit.

1. Check the LED on the PCI slot to determine which component is causing the error.

2. Check the system event log for information about errors.

3. If the failed adapter cannot be identified by the lights and the information in the system event log, remove the adapter one at a time from the failed PCI bus and restart the server with each adapter removed.

PS

The power supply failed.

1. Check the power LED to see if there is an error indication (AC power indicator and DC power indicator are not lit at the same time).

2. Make sure that the failed power supply is installed correctly.

3. Replace the faulty power supply.

RAID

Raid card failed

Raid card has error message or raid card has hardware error

SP

The service processor (IMM) has failed.

1. Power off the server; then reconnect the server to the power supply and restart the server.

2. Update firmware on IMM.

TEMP

The system temperature has exceeded the threshold. A faulty fan will cause the TEMP indicator to light up.

1. Check the error log to determine where the temperature is too high. If the fan fails, replace it.

2. Make sure the room temperature is not too high. Know the temperature information.

3. Make sure the ventilation hole is not blocked.

Dimensions:

REMIND button: press this button to reset the system error indicator on the operator information panel and put the server in reminder mode. In the way of reminder

The fault is not cleared but the system error indicator flashes (once every 2 seconds) instead of continuously lit; if another system error occurs, the system error indicator will continue to shine.
