According to the report statistics, the current global share ranking of operating systems is: Android is 39%, Windows is 35%, iOS is 13.87%, macOS is 5.92%, Linux is 0.77%.

At the HDC2019 Huawei Developer Conference on August 9 this year, Yu Chengdong officially released Harmony OS, a microkernel-based full-scene distributed OS.

Hongmeng system has four characteristics: distributed architecture, natural fluency, kernel security, ecological sharing, modular decoupling, flexible deployment corresponding to different devices.

Yu Chengdong said that Android has more than 100 million lines of code, and the kernel has more than 20 million lines, but the code used by ordinary users is less than 8%, which is redundant as a whole, which is neither necessary nor needed in the IoT era.

Hongmeng system adopts the design concept of "micro-kernel," which is different from the "macro-kernel" of Android and other systems.
