Our sources confirm that AMD is indeed preparing three new Sharon 3000 desktop processors as part of its new Matisse Refresh AM4 series. The new processor will use the optimized 7 nm process node and will be first launched on the Matisse CPU in 2019, so the AMD can provide a higher clock on the new SKU.

AMD Ruilong 3000 'Matisse Refresh' Desktop CPU confirms July release-0, and the clock and price of the existing CPU fall even faster.

A few hours ago, there were rumors that AMD was developing a new Sharon 3000 desktop CPU, but we can confirm that at least three chips are under development. The Matisse Refresh series will be equipped with the following CPU:

From the expectations of the Matisse Refresh series, the core configuration will remain the same. The Ruilong 9 3900XT will have 12 cores and 24 threads, the Ruilong 7 3800XT will have 8 cores and 16 threads, and the Ruilong 5 3600XT will have 6 cores and 12 threads. Interestingly, all three CPU have higher clock speeds and enhanced overclocking support. Our sources also suggest that the Boost algorithm of the new CPU should be more stringent, which will result in a 5-10% improvement in the performance of existing parts.

All three Ruilong 3000 Matisse Refresh desktop processors will support 400 series and 500 series motherboards. The product line is a perfect match with three major competitors: Intel Core i9-10900K, Core i7-10700K, Core i5-10600K. AMD's existing components do offer a better performance / value ratio than Intel's tenth-generation product line, but AMD believes there is still room for improvement. With the Matisse Refresh series, Comet Lake components with higher clock rates can easily upend Intel's lead and put AMD in the lead again.
