A year later, Tiesanjiao released the first wireless earplugs, which was a little impressive. The company came back with two new attempts: ATH-CKS5TW and ATH-CKS3TW at Tieshanjiao. This time, the battery life has been improved. Now both batteries are charged with USB-C, which is much cheaper. The ATH-CKS5TW sells for $149( £149in the UK), while the ATH-CKS3TW costs $99 (£99).

Although both pairs of earplugs now have the spatter protection of IPX2 and better background noise reduction, there are some differences between them, which justifies the price difference:

The ATH-CKS5TW 's battery life is longer: 15 hours from the earplug itself, plus more than 30 hours. With the cheaper ATH-CKS3TW, you only need 6 hours of earplugs, of which 24 hours come from the charging box.

Compared with the touch on the cheap earplugs, the more expensive earplugs have physical button control. We found that the touch on Audio-Technica 's previous headphones was "clumsy and slow", so we hope all of these things will be improved.

Both pairs of earplugs support AptX and SBC audio codecs, but only the more expensive ATH-CKS5TW supports AAC.

Surprisingly, only cheaper ATH-CKS3TW supports voice assistants, such as Siri and Google Assistant. Audio technology provides us with several different reasons. The main reason is that it believes that voice control will "weaken" the battery life and sound quality of headphones, which is said to be the top priority of its more expensive earplugs. The company also said, including voice assistants, will accept button commands for earplugs and hopes to leave power buttons free so that people can use them without a shell.

Finally, the sounds of the two earplugs may be different, but this is a bit difficult to quantify on paper. The ATH-CKS5TW has a larger 10mm drive than the ATH-CKS3TW 's 5.8mm, but we have to listen to earplugs ourselves to understand how it translates into sound quality.

Cheaper earplugs have touch controls rather than physical buttons.

Before we know whether Audio-Technica can solve the problem of the first two pairs of real wireless headphones, we have to try these two headphones ourselves.
