Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--

The reason for studying this problem is that I bought a solid-state hard drive to reinstall the win7 system. Before, the mechanical hard drive chose "never" to turn off the monitor of the power option and to put the computer into sleep mode, and the computer will not go to sleep. I can remotely use my company's computer at home or out of town. However, after finding that the newly installed SSD computer has set this power option, it will still "sleep" (in fact, later found out, it is not sleep, but hibernation), which caused me to suddenly find that I could not remote the company computer at home. because the power options are advanced here, hibernation defaults to sleep after 360 minutes. (of course, if you take high-performance mode, hibernation is never by default.)

The difference between windows hibernation and sleep:

Hibernation: copy the memory of the machine to the hard disk to form a dormant file (can be viewed by entering file:///C:// through the browser, the name is hiberfil.sys, the space occupied is related to the size of memory, my colleague's computer is 8G of physical memory, the file is 5.9g), and then turn off all hardware power, including turning off the power of memory, at this time, the program, network and so on are not working. The next time you restore the pre-boot state, you need to press the power button (there is a picture of the windows system being restored), and then the memory reads the dormant files in the hard disk to restore the program in the boot state.

Sleep: copy the memory of the machine to the hard disk to form a hibernation file (named hiberfil.sys), and then turn off the power of all other hardware except memory. Note that the power of the memory is not turned off and is still running, but the state is still that the program, the network and so on are not working. The next time you return to your pre-boot state, you need to press the power button (there is a picture of the windows system being restored), and then directly read the memory that is not powered off, so turning on the machine is much faster than hibernation. Well, you will ask, since it is memory to read directly after sleep, why should sleep survive a hibernation file just like hibernation? it is because to prevent a sudden external power outage during sleep, so if there is a power outage during sleep, then although the memory information is lost, the dormant file has memory backup, and the system will still restore the pre-boot state, because it is time to read the dormant file. The boot speed is not fast at this time, just like the hibernation mode.

Figure 2 View the hibernation time settings of the windows machine

3. The default hibernation in high performance mode is never

4. You can turn off machine hibernation with the command powercfg-h off, but the hibernation menu is gone after using this command

5. Resume hibernation after using the powercfg-h on command

6. It is recommended that you do not use the command powercfg-h on/off, just change the sleep time to 0 to achieve never sleep, so that you do not lose the menu.

After the 7.powercfg-h off command, the hiberfil.sys system hibernation file disappears (in addition, hiberfil.sys system hibernation file, pagefile.sys system virtual memory file).
