III. Solutions

Change the root password of the ESXi host by modifying the configuration file of the host in VCSA.

IV. Steps

1. In the VCSA Web Client management interface: click Home > Select Host profile

3. Select: 192.168.80.11 Host > Click "next"

4. Enter name: Config-80.11 > description: change root password > click finish

5. Click "Config-80.11" > Select "configuration" > click "Edit Host profile"

6. Click "next"

7. Uncheck all options; click Security and Services > Security Settings > Security > user configuration > check: root > Select fixed password configuration > enter a new root password (complex password is required) > click finish

8. Select hosts > Click the attach / detach host profiles in hosts and clusters button

9. Select: 192.168.80.11 host > Click "attach"

10. Click "next"

11. Click "finish"

twelve。 Select Monitor > Click the check Host profile Compliance button for associated entities

13. At this point, the host compliance will show: non-compliance; the following details show: "the password of root in the configuration file does not match the password on the host"

14. Click the "repair host based on host profile" button

15. Uncheck: reboot the host as needed > Click finish

16. The log shows that the bulk application host configuration has been completed.

V. Verification

1. In Win8.1, use the browser to visit: https://192.168.80.11, enter the user name: root and the changed root password to log in
