In recent years, Oppo has developed into one of the most innovative smartphone brands in the world. This week, Brian Shen, vice president of Oppo, revealed a prototype phone that uses the new display 2.0 screen technology. This is a double-sided display screen, both sides are very curved, the screen body ratio is very high.

The tipsy Ice Universe posted pictures and details about the new display technology on Twitter. Oppo's Full-Display 2.0, also known as the waterfall screen, can be seen bending 88 degrees on the left and right sides of the screen. Because the edge of the screen provides a deep curve, the border seems almost non-existent. The top and bottom frames also look thin with no incisions or perforations. All this means that the phone seems to provide a screen ratio of nearly 100%.

In one picture, we saw the prototype phone next to Oppo Find X last year. Compared with the Find X, the prototype phone provides a higher display, sharper corners and squares. Mobile phones may provide an aspect ratio of 21: 9. For example, Motorola One Vision and Sony Xperia 1. The curvature of the edge is also more pronounced, more profound than the products offered by Samsung and Huawei on some flagship phones and one plus 7 Pro.

We also notice that there are no physical buttons on the side of the frame, indicating that the curved screen will provide interactive virtual buttons. The prototype phone also does not have a visible front camera, suggesting that Oppo may be using the display camera technology shown on MWC 2019 in Shanghai last month. The selfie camera is hidden below the top of the display and appears only when the front-facing camera mode is needed.

A prototype Oppo phone with a full display 2.0 and a low-display selfie camera is expected to be launched in 2020. Twitter also said in its tweet that the screen technology will appear on Huawei's Mate 30 Pro and Vivo Nex 3 this year, while Oppo Find X II and Xiaomi's flagship phones are expected to be launched next year.
