1. Click "Virtual Machine" at the top left of the VMWare window, click "Settings", as shown in figure 1

5. Important part: enter the virtual machine and install VMware Tools

As shown in figure 5, click "Virtual Machine" and then "reinstall VMware Tools". I have installed it before. If it has not been installed, it should not be "reinstalled". It makes no difference.

6. A virtual optical drive window pops up, right-click "Open in Terminal"

7. Copy it to another directory, such as the here directory I created here, which can be deleted after the installation is complete.

8. Extract-> enter the installer directory-> perform the installation:

Tar zxvf VMwareTools-10.1.15-6627299.tar.gz cd vmware-tools-distrib/. / vmware-install.pl

9. At this point, you should be able to see the shared folder share under the windows you just set up in the virtual machine under / mnt/hgfs/:

10. If there is no shared folder under / mnt/hgfs/ at the previous step-don't worry, just add another command:

Vmhgfs-fuse .host: / / mnt/hgfs/

At this point, put your files under windows into the shared folder share, then go back to Ubuntu, cd to / mnt/hgfs/share, and you can see the shared files.

Note: you can create a soft connection to the home directory so that you can easily enter the shared directory:

Cd / mnt/hgfsln-s / mnt/hgfs/share/ ~ / share

In this way, when you want to enter the shared directory again, you only need to cd share in the home directory.
