In the process of performance testing, there are two test scenarios to choose from, manual test scenario and goal-oriented test scenario.

Target scene

Through the Auto Load function of Controller to automate the load, if the test results reach the goal, it means that the performance of the system meets the test goal, otherwise it will indicate that the goal cannot be achieved. It is generally used for acceptance testing.

Manual test scenario

Manual scenarios can help us to analyze the performance bottlenecks of the system. Most performance tests are manual scenarios.

There is no rendezvous point setting policy in the target scene, and the system automatically forms concurrent load.

The core of Load Generator is mmdrv.exe, and mmdrv.exe is responsible for running scripts to simulate user behavior, which supports processes and threads.

Load Generator calls MMDRV.EXE to complete the load, and the generation of the load is divided into process mode and thread mode.

It can be set in Run-Time-Setting.

Using the process method to simulate the load will be expensive, each virtual user uses a separate mmdrv.exe to complete the implementation of the load, so that the users are independent of each other and do not affect each other.

If you use threading mode, then the users are simulated on a mmdrv.exe, and users use threading mode, which consumes less resources.

Based on security protocols, threads can be used to run, while non-security protocols can run in process mode.
