In Oranmore, a small town in Galway County, Ireland, you can now taste the possible, immediate and satisfactory delivery of drones in the future. In its recently announced partnership with Irish drone delivery company Manna, Samsung promised to deliver smaller electronics such as phones and smartwatches within "three minutes" after someone at Oranmore ordered it from Samsung's Irish online store.

According to Samsung's announcement, Manna uses "custom-developed aviation drones" to complete delivery. Drones can travel at speeds of more than 60 kilometers per hour (about 37 miles per hour), which seems to ensure these positive delivery times, although it may help to operate only within a 2-kilometer radius of its dispatch center.

However, the cooperation between Samsung and nectar has not really broken through new areas. Thanks to Manna's 2020 deal with food chain Tesco, people living in Oranmore may already be familiar with Manna's drones, which cover everything from groceries to pharmaceuticals.

Both Samsung and Mannan say they are "eager" to expand delivery services across the country, but other companies outside Ireland have been experimenting with drones.
