WhatsApp may soon bring a message response so that you don't have to reply to messages that you don't even need to reply every time. Currently, we react to messages by referencing them and then sending any appropriate information, from text to emoticons to GIF. However, the message response feature will provide a quick way to respond to messages with only an emoji, similar to what we did in Instagram DM.

It is not clear what the new feature will look like. In Instagram DM, by contrast, we press a long message and an emoji tray appears, allowing you to choose from among options. We believe it will work in a similar way in WhatsApp messages. Currently, a long press message in WhatsApp displays multiple options in the top bar. We believe that once this feature is available, long-pressing gestures will also enable message response.

This feature is not ready yet, but the keen WABetaInfo can see its immature version. The presenter believes that this feature will be shown to beta testers in future updates.

However, screenshots shared by prompts show that users must run the latest version of WhatsApp to see the response. If the recipient is using an older version, they will receive a message telling them to update their WhatsApp application.

Once available, this feature may prove useful for WhatsApp groups because we receive hundreds of messages every day and are unable to reply to each one. Responding quickly with emoticons alone would be the best way to respond.
