Direct connection: for example, the user can directly connect the telephone line of the modem without acoustic coupling facilities; the user can send sequence information to the modulator and demodulator through the communication link and convert it into a reply. The user can also access the telephone number stored in the disk through the PC keyboard function software and instruct the modem to dial the number, and establish a carrier signal contact with the host system.
