What is the feasible path of database PaaS landing practice in large enterprise environment? When asked this question, Xiong Jun, general manager of Yunhe Enmo Product Research and Development Department, said that generally in small and medium-sized enterprises, the business form is relatively simple, on the one hand, does not need a complex IT system, on the other hand, the IT field has not yet determined that a standard environment cannot be built. The most common is that the business exists in the form of hosting or SaaS, without excessive cost investment in the resource layer. However, the IT environment within large enterprises is relatively complex, the original legacy system may be running on minicomputer, windows or X86 server, and the database may be of different types and versions. In this case, the construction of database PaaS platform has become the common requirement of large enterprises.

In Xiong Jun's view, in this process, we should not abandon the original system, but to seek the effective integration of the old system and the new platform. At the same time, we should try our best to play down the specific environment in which the database runs, whether it is on the cloud, under the cloud, or on the physical machine, we can achieve unified database management. The ultimate goal is to achieve the flow and integration of data and maximize the value of data.

Focus on the standardization, automation and intellectualization of database management

It is undeniable that the unified management of different types of databases through the cloud management platform and the creation of a fusion system between different databases or different systems is the key to the construction of the data platform in the future. Based on this, Cloud and Enmo have launched the zCloud database cloud management platform in the industry, which is committed to helping users from front-end applications to middle-level databases and back-end infrastructure, to comprehensively improve database operation and management, so that the entire database operation and maintenance work, end-to-end towards automation and intelligence.

Xiong Jun said that the unified management of zCloud multi-database has realized the centralized management of the database through standardization, automation and intelligence. Specifically, in the aspect of standardization, unified methods, unified interfaces and unified tools are applied to realize the standardized management of the database. In terms of automation, automatic operation and maintenance operations are carried out through flexible configuration of processes, comprehensive and in-depth monitoring, including database health check, automatic capacity expansion, etc., and automation schemes such as cluster, disaster recovery and high availability of multi-computer rooms can be automatically configured according to business level. In the aspect of intelligence, zCloud can realize intelligent database performance analysis, optimization suggestions, trend analysis and intelligent problem diagnosis. When there is a problem in the database, zCloud will automatically analyze what kind of problem there is in the database, what kind of index should be created for the specific SQL, and what statistical information should be collected to improve its execution effect.

From this point of view, zCloud can well deal with the complex IT environment faced by large enterprises in building database PaaS platform, such as multiple systems and databases. From another point of view, the ultimate goal of unified database management is not only to enhance the stability and high performance of the database, but also to simplify the IT architecture and save the resources and costs of the enterprise IT platform through the intelligent data integration provided by the platform. " Xiong Jun further explained.

Top-down product system based on business requirements

In fact, the construction of cloud and Enmo product system is more from the different levels of enterprise IT architecture. Xiong Jun said that cloud and Enmo have formed a product system based on data storage layer, data management layer and data application layer. This classification is derived from the different application levels of the database itself, and each level will have corresponding products to meet the needs of users in different fields and different sizes.

In the data storage layer, cloud and Enmo independently developed zData Light Storage distributed storage management software based on the concept of software-defined storage to help users build an open and robust high-performance IT infrastructure; in the data management layer, cloud and Enmo launched a unified zCloud cloud management platform based on multiple databases In the data application layer, Cloud and Enmo launched the SQL audit optimization software SQM to help enterprises complete the online audit and release management of the database, and open up the entire DevOps process. Moreover, Yun and Enmo have also formed an operation and maintenance system based on prior analysis, in-process monitoring, post-recovery and audit to ensure that users' core system data maintains the best operating environment.

On the future direction of technology research and development, Xiong Jun said that at present, cloud and Enmo are continuing to promote data-level technological innovation such as data security and intelligent analysis of data. However, he also mentioned that although it is a general trend to accelerate the localization of databases through independent innovation, we have to realize that under the existing database theoretical system, technical architecture and R & D logic, it is not easy to achieve subversive technological innovation. Innovation based on user scenarios and user pain points should be an important direction for us to seek current technological breakthroughs.

As the head of the R & D system of Yunhe Enmo, Xiong Jun should not only lead the Yunhe Enmo product team to achieve product planning and evolution, create more value for customers, but also organize R & D to achieve product functions in an engineering way. However, in his view, on the one hand, these jobs can maximize their own value and technical ability and role, on the other hand, they are also their own interests and hobbies, which he enjoys.
