Editor to share with you what are the new features of Kubernetes1.3, I believe most people do not know much about it, so share this article for your reference, I hope you can learn a lot after reading this article, let's go to know it!

Petsets

Petsets uses stateful applications and services to solve problems. The smallest configuration unit in Kubernetes is the pod. Pods has a short lifespan, similar to a running container mirror instance, and then kills it when it stops. When pod terminates, the instance disappears and is replaced by a new instance with a new file system and new network identity.

This is fine in general, but it's impossible for your application to survive a restart and stop while keeping its filesystem and ID intact. Refer to the example of a database node.

Petsets solves this problem by giving pod a unique and stable method of identification. This is very important for clustered services, which need a stable identity to refer to when creating a cluster or adding additional nodes. A stable ID allows pods to retrieve data (data volumes) related to a particular identity, which means that db.node1 has the same data between restarts.

Ubernetes (i.e. Kubernetes Cluster Alliance)

Kubernetes supports only a single master and multiple dependent deployments since the official version 1. 2. While this works well, it leaves a single point of failure on the master node, which handles the cluster state and acts as the network node of the Kubernetes API.

Ubernetes is designed to support failover instead of dashboards on a single Kubernetes cluster, that is, failover running between clusters in different availability zones. Fortunately, in practice, this means that service is automatically and dynamically resilient again in response to cluster or availability zone (or both) failure.

Ubernetes is actually going one step faster. It is designed to support multiple Kubernetes cluster use cases hosted on different cloud providers, such as GCE and AWS, and optionally preset bare metal. That's nice, but that's all we need to do on Amazon right now.

Also, the modified script will be used to create a kubernetes cluster. Named kube-up.sh, it handles the configuration of master and minion nodes, their network configuration, and so on. In the case of AWS, this means picking an AMI, setting up VPC, gateways, branch networks, and more. This has been modified in version 1.3 to support Ubernetes, and manual jobs that need to set the same thing in version 1.2 should be deleted.
