Greg Kroah-Hartman, a well-known Linux kernel developer, announced over the weekend that the latest Linux 5.3 kernel series is now marked as stable and ready for large-scale deployment.

Linux Kernel 5.3, released by Linus Torvalds on Sept. 15, is the latest and most advanced kernel version branch of the GNU/Linux distribution, introducing support for Intel Speed Select features and adding support for AMD Radeon Navi GPU to the AMDGPU driver.

The Linux Kernel 5.3 branch also adds quota support for megacore x86 general-purpose processors, supports more efficient user controls using the clamp mechanism in asymmetric processors, supports umwait x86 instructions, supports 16 million new IPv4 addresses in the 0.0.0.0 amp 8 range, and supports lightweight and flexible ACRN embedded hypervisors.
