Mysql backup and restore backup

Hot backup refers to the direct backup of the database in operation, without any impact on the running database.

Cold backup means that when the database is stopped (shut down), you only need to copy the relevant data physical files.

Warm backup refers to the direct backup of the database in operation, but it has an impact on the current database operation and is rarely used.

According to the contents of the backed-up files, they are divided into:

Logical backup

Backup of naked files.

After a logical backup, the contents of the file are readable, usually text files, and the contents are usually Sql statements or actual data in the table, such as mysqldump or select * into outfile. Suitable for database upgrade, migration, recovery time is long.

Bare file backup refers to copying the physical files of the database (xtrabackup). The database can be either running or stopped, and the recovery time is much shorter than that of logical backup.

Note: log backup is mainly the backup of the binary logs of the mysql database. The point-in-time recovery of the database is completed by redoing the binary logs of a full backup.
