As the streaming industry is more crowded and competitive than ever before, Netflix has become more willing to disclose information that it used to be a secret point. In fact, it wasn't until a few months ago that Netflix began releasing its most popular shows on its platform for the first time in a given month.

Netflix recently filed a new document with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that disclosed details of its regional revenue and subscriber base. Traditionally, the streaming giant tells us how many users it has around the world, but now we can get more detailed information about Netflix's global user base by geographical region.

So far, Netflix has about 158 million paying users worldwide. Of these, 67.1 million live in Canada. This was followed by Netflix, with 47.4 million users in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In Latin America, Netflix has 29.4 million users. The company's last geographic region, the Asia-Pacific region, has 14.5 million users.

More interesting than that, however, is the new information about how much Netflix earns per user in each geographic area.

Specifically, the average income of Netflix users in Canada and China is $12.36. The company's average revenue from subscribers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa is $10.26. Meanwhile, users in the Asia-Pacific region pay an average of $9.31 a month. Finally, the average user in Latin America pays $8.21 a month.

All in all, it is well known that Netflix continues to focus on expanding its overseas user base because this is the best opportunity for Netflix to grow its revenue. In fact, the company announced a quarterly decline in the number of users earlier this year, prompting many to speculate that Netflix's growth may have peaked. At the same time, the number of foreign users has increased rapidly in recent years, although, as mentioned above, the income spent by each user is relatively low.

A more interesting concern is whether Disney's success will have a significant impact on Netflix. While Disney may urge some Netflix users to cancel, the two services are so cheap that there is plenty of room on the market for them to flourish.
