Audio commentary

Users who use iPhone and iPad often encounter the problem of "unable to contact the iPhone software update server" when updating their systems. PC6Apple.com has sorted out various methods for all of you here, and there are always ways to help you solve this problem.

Solution:

Method 1: modify the network connection DNS

Click the start menu, select the control panel, and enter the control panel. In the control panel, select Network and sharing Center, as shown in the following figure

After entering the Network and sharing Center, click Local Link, as shown in the following figure

In the pop-up local link window, select the property, as shown below

In the pop-up properties window, select Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and then click Properties, as shown below

In the Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) properties window that pops up, select use the following DNS server address, and then fill in 8.8.8.8 in the preferred DNS server, as shown in the following figure

Finally, keep pressing OK to exit. You can resolve the problem where the itunes prompt "cannot contact the iphone software update server".

Method 2: modify the HOSTS file

Open the Windows\ System32\ drivers\ etc directory of the system disk in turn

Double-click the HOSTS file and select notepad to open it, as shown in the following figure

Add 74.208.10.249gs.apple.com at the bottom of the HOSTS file as shown below

Save and close the HOSTS file

You can resolve the problem where the itunes prompt "cannot contact the iphone software update server".

Method 3:

Click the address: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1814? View locale=en _ US, do not close it, then open iTunes, and the problem will be solved smoothly.

Method 4:

Windows user, please open: C: windows system32 driver, etc., find the Hosts file, open it with notepad, find the following statement, 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com can be deleted. If the problem is not solved, change the gs.apple.com at the back of the website to phobos.apple.com or albert.apple.com

Method 5:

Enter cmd from run on the start menu, open a command line window, and type the command "nslookup gs.apple.com". You will find the real ip obtained by visiting gs.apple.com in your area, and write down your IP (marked in red), such as:

Windows XP users open folders (C:Windows/System32/drivers/etc/), open hosts files, and click with the right mouse button to open hosts files with notepad or WordPad Replace 74.208.10.24 gs.apple.com with the ip you just wrote down on the last line (if you open it without 74.208.10.24 gs.apple.com, enter the ip directly on the last blank line, such as 17.171.36.30 gs.apple.com), save and exit. Open iTunes again and the problem will be solved.

Method 6:

Check to see if the Messenger,Telnet,Terminal Services service is turned on on the computer. Right-click on my computer, and then click manage-> system Services, find the three services you want, and open it.

Method 7:

Windows XP users select the control panel from the start menu, open the Internet options control panel, click the connection tab, click the LAN settings button, and select the "automatic detection settings" checkbox.

Click OK in both windows. Reopen iTunes and connect to iPhone, iPad, or iPod. Update or restore the device.

Windows Vista and Windows 7 users select the control panel from the start menu. Select the network and Internet, and then select the Internet option. Or in Classic View, open the Internet options control panel. Click the connection label. Click the LAN Settings button. Check the automatic detection settings checkbox.

Click OK in both windows. Reopen iTunes and connect to iPhone, iPad, or iPod. Update or restore the device.

Method 8:

The Window user opens the folder C:WINDOWSsystem32driversetc, finds the file hosts, and replaces the following scarlet letter with the hosts file
