Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
This article mainly introduces "how multiple hosts use DNS servers to achieve network load balancing". In daily operation, I believe many people have doubts about how multiple hosts use DNS servers to achieve network load balancing. Xiaobian consulted all kinds of materials and sorted out simple and easy-to-use operation methods. I hope it will be helpful for you to answer the doubts of "how multiple hosts use DNS servers to achieve network load balancing". Next, please follow the editor to study!
There are many solutions, such as using Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003 to provide network load balancing service, but the setup of this service is very complex. However, it is a relatively simple method to realize network load balancing through DNS server.
The author takes the Web server in the enterprise network as an example to introduce how to use the DNS server to achieve network load balancing. In order to increase the number of visits to websites with the domain name "www.huweishen.com", three Web servers with the same content are deployed in the enterprise network, which provide the same service, but each server has a different IP address. The following is to set up the DNS server in the enterprise network to realize that the three Web servers share the customer's access to the website.
First, enable the loop
Take the WindowsServer2003 system as an example, in the DNS server, click the "start → program → management tools → DNS" option, enter the DNS Manager window, right-click the DNS server icon, select the "Properties" option in the pop-up shortcut menu, and then switch to the "Advanced" tab in the properties dialog box (figure 1). Make sure that the "enable Loop" option in the "Server options" list box is selected.
Second, add host record
Create a host record in the "huweishen.com" area. In the DNS Manager window, right-click the "huweishen.com" item, select "New Host" in the pop-up menu, enter "WWW" in the "name" column, enter the IP address of one of the Web servers in the IP address bar, such as 192.168.0.5, and finally click the "add Host" button.
Because there are three Web servers in the enterprise network and their IP addresses are different, two additional host records with the host name "WWW" will be created in the same way as above, except that the contents of their IP addresses are different. In this way, the domain names of the website can be resolved to different Web servers.
The contents of the three host records in the DNS server huweishen.com area are shown in the following table:
After the creation of the above three host records (figure 2), the network load balancing of the Web server is realized. In this way, when the client accesses the www.huweishen.com website, it issues a domain name resolution request to the DNS server. When the DNS server receives the first request, it returns the first IP address 192.168.0.5 to the client, and when the second client requests domain name resolution, the DNS server returns the second IP address 192.168.1.5 to the client. Through this circular allocation, the access of the client can be shared to different Web servers, thus realizing the function of network load balancing.
Third, the optimization of load balancing function
The enterprise network is usually made up of many subnets. In order to reduce the data flow in the network, it is best for the client to access the Web server in the same subnet. Although the network load balancing function is realized, it is not guaranteed that the customer accesses the Web server in this subnet. In fact, this problem is also easy to solve, as long as you enable the "enable netmask sorting" feature of the DNS server.
In the DNS Manager window, right-click the DNS server, select "Properties" in the pop-up menu, then switch to the "Advanced" tab in the Properties dialog box, and check the "enable Netmask sorting" option in the "Server options" list box. This allows the client to access the Web server in the subnet each time.
After completing the above settings, the DNS server realizes the network load balancing function, shares the customer access to each Web server, and reduces the cross-subnet network traffic, which greatly reduces the communication burden of the enterprise network.
At this point, the study on "how multiple hosts use DNS servers to achieve network load balancing" is over. I hope to be able to solve everyone's doubts. The collocation of theory and practice can better help you learn, go and try it!
