Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
Personally, I'm usually alone when three people are alive. From morning to noon, it is rational time. During this time, I will deal with some orderly things. From afternoon to 4 p.m., this is a manic time. During this time, I will deal with some things that I have been dragging on without time, because once I am manic, I can't stop. From 5 p.m. to evening, this is a rather emotional time. During this time, I will think of something irrelevant or express some feelings. This article belongs to the evening idea, written in the morning sent to the WeChat circle of friends, now organize and perfect it.
Recently, I have come into contact with some intelligent hardware-related things. Of course, traditional router boxes do not belong to intelligent hardware, but the hot word intelligence is so safe on routers that it will make people think. Nowadays, most of the so-called intelligent routes are traditional home routers covered with fancy APP layers, most of which are also based on various WRT modifications, and there is almost no core technology. Even XXWRT itself is not something I can look at. To be honest, I can't look at them. They are too bloated. I like simple things, angular things, and the reason I don't like the iPhone 6 is that it doesn't have edges and doesn't stand up. Another thing I don't like about XXWRT is that it's stacked, too messy, too weak, and too cumbersome to customize. To be honest, I was able to configure XXWRT in 10 minutes with one of our own gateways, something that XXWRT simply couldn't do. If I need a new extension, I'll spend a little more time writing a module, and then simply insmod, that's all, XXWRT? Explode. All kinds of WRT are rubbish!
However, it is XXWRT that introduces home routers into the "smart" path of no return. The real home router should be the home data exchange center and the entrance and exit of external data, which can be understood as a miniature data center, not a pigsty of various APPs. The core of the home router should still be at the bottom, hardware acceleration, protocol stack optimization, protocol customization, storage, and this is not something that the application layer can do. The point of router is really not the beautiful configuration interface, you will not necessarily configure it several times until you throw it away. It was supposed to be something "put there," like a substation. Look at Cisco, Huawei equipment, which has a fancy configuration interface, but they are the first echelon. It is not prejudice, but a mistake, to think that configured intelligence is intelligence! Intelligence should be reflected in the functionality of the data terminal, not in the configuration of the intermediate node.
Routers are where data needs to "get out of here"! If the data could address itself, then there would be no router. No matter how luxurious the service area was, people would not regard it as a writer! Routers are a last resort in TCP/IP networks, and that's it. In opportunistic networks, or military networks, there are networks that don't have a single point of addressing. Stacking intelligence on routers, and these so-called intelligence and router core functions-forwarding have nothing to do with it, nothing more than some policy, some proxy, this is a fundamental mistake.
If you have to think that I am wrong, then please change the name of this router, such as calling it a home data center. At this point, if it is a box without storage, then get lost quickly. Xiaomi did a good job, its positioning is not a router, but a home data center. In the future, there will be more and more intelligent hardware in the home, and the protocol will no longer be just TCP/IP. What does "intelligent routing" need to do? What it needs to do is protocol conversion, device plug and play, data caching, and these are all very low-level technologies. Whoever makes a big home can unify the chaotic field of home intelligence or smart home and standardize it. In addition, in terms of wireless mobility support, the home data center must support seamless addressing of mobile nodes. Can this XXWRT do it? Can we? Can we?
