Build a SNTP/NTP server with WindowsTime (W32Time) service in Windows Server 2008 R2 to provide time services for Windows or non-windows clients.

In this experiment, we choose DC as the time server:

1. In the start menu bar, click "run" and enter regedit to open the Windows registry.

2. Set to NTP server type.

Modify the login file: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ W32Time\ Parameters"

Issues to pay attention to:

2. Make sure that the firewall allows UDP123 port access.

Open the UDP:123 port

Open the start menu and enter "CMD" in command line mode:

Netshfirewall add portopening protocol = UDP port = 123name = NTPSERVER

(123 is the port of the time server, if it is only for experimental purposes, we can choose to turn off DC, that is, the firewall of the time server. )

Configure an esxi host as a NTP client

1. Log in to vcenter server through webclient, and configure it as shown below.

Because this experiment has been tested for many times, we can't open the web page we want to open on the real machine, so we need to open another win7 virtual machine to do the experiment. Don't forget to install the latest version of flash for win7. It seems that the IE browser that comes with win7 still can't log in to the website we want to log in to, so we chose Firefox browser in this experiment. After installing flash and Firefox browser, Let's start logging into the VDP configuration website:
