II. Preparation of NetBackup test environment

SQL > recover database until cancel using backup controlfile; / / recover database, enter "AUTO" when asked

After completing the recover database, you can start the database:

SQL > alter database open resetlogs

After the database is opened successfully, you need to check whether the TEMP temporary tablespace exists and if not, you need to add it.

SQL > ALTER TABLESPACE "TEMP" > of course, it's best to use the Enterprise Manager (OEM) interface to add it, because it's more intuitive.

After the above steps, the oracle database is successfully restored.

2. Restore the catalog of NetBackup

NetBackup's catalog records the details of all data backups, and data stored on tape cannot be located without catalog. It is because of the importance of catalog that catalog is stored on a disk protected by raid on the one hand, and catalog is backed up in time on the other. When the catalog of the NetBackup is damaged, you can use the backup to restore the catalog.

To restore is to execute the bprecover command to restore directly.

# bprecover-r-dpath / export/home/backup/catalog1

In this way, catalog is successfully restored.

IV. Testing
