If the directory / lib/modules/ is still empty after running the above command, or if there is a series of errors, then your disk is probably dead. Create a new module disk and try again. There is no need for a reboot in this case, just retype the loaddisk command. Even if several discs are dead, you don't have to worry, because it's very common (unfortunately).
