More than a year ago, I introduced a new Arch-based Linux distribution called MagpieOS that was created by Rizwan. I think Rizwan's experience of creating MagpieOS inspired him to create this program.

The Arch Linux Image list Manager does not have many functions. It allows you to sort images by response speed and filter them by number and country.

In other words, if you are in Germany, you can limit yourself to the three fastest images in Germany.

Install Arch Linux Image list Manager

It is only applicable to Arch Linux users

Be careful! The Arch Linux Image list Manager can only be applied to Arch linux distributions. Do not use it in other Arch-based distributions unless you are sure that the distribution uses an Arch image. Otherwise, you will encounter the problems I encountered in Manjaro (explained in the following section).

Replacement of Mirror Manager in Manjaro

When using an Arch-like system, I chose Manjaro. Before starting this article, I installed the Arch Linux Image list Manager on Manjaro and on it. It quickly sorted the valid images and saved them to my list of images.

Then I tried to update the system but immediately encountered a problem. When the ArchLinux Mirror list Manager sorts the images used by my system, it replaces my Manjaro images with normal Arch images. Manjaro is based on Arch but has its own image because the development team tests all of these packages before pushing them to ensure that BUG does not crash. ) fortunately, the Manjaro forum helped me fix this error.

If you are a Manjaro user, please don't repeat my mistake. The Arch Linux Image list Manager is only available for Arch and derivative versions that use Arch images.

Fortunately, manjaro has an easy-to-use terminal program to manage the list of images. That's Pacman-mirrors. Like the ArchLinux Image list Manager, you can sort by response speed. Just run sudo pacman-mirrors-- fasttrack. If you want to limit the results to the five fastest images, you can run sudo pacman-mirrors-fasttrack 5. To run sudo pacman-mirrors-- country Germany,Spain,Austria, like limiting the result to one or more countries. You can limit the results to your own country by running sudo pacman-mirrors-geoip. After running Pacman-mirrors, you also need to run sudo pacman-Syyu to synchronize the package database and upgrade the system.

Note: Pacman-mirrors applies only to Manjaro.
