Call all developers: Dropcam has just announced an APIBeta plan. This API precursor gives interested third parties the opportunity to attract Dropcam with mutually beneficial software integration recommendations. Successful people will have the opportunity to work directly with Dropcam towards a common goal of making IP cameras supported by start-up apps easier to use and introduce new features.

In its test state, companies and developers must first apply it to the program. Dropcam then evaluates each candidate based on three key factors: whether the idea makes sense for Dropcam; if it will improve the way people use its products; and compliance with Dropcam's security and privacy policies.

One obvious integration I want to see is integration with IFTT. Other smart home brands based on cameras and sensors, such as BelkinWe Mo, Withings and Netatmo, work with IFTT to have logical applications for automated services. The same is true of Dropcam.

The formula "if Dropcam detects motion, turn on Philips color lights" can introduce security and specific smart home features. There is no Dropcam yet. Considering the recent addition of Dropcam TAB-29 's motion and motion sensors, it aims to work with DropcamPro cameras-these highly rated webcams are considered a comprehensive DIY home safety system.

Earlier today, I talked to AamirVirani, the co-founder of Dropcam, and he mentioned an IFTT-style integration that might come soon. If Dropcam detects motion, something else happens. Except for now, he doesn't want to say anything else, otherwise it would be true if compatibility or separate Dropcam services provide similar functionality.

Villani also said that Dropcam has temporarily delayed the accessibility of video feeds for security reasons, but cloud video recording (CVR) users may see changes in their active feeds in the future due to API reasons. Currently, users can access camera-triggered events, but they may soon be able to integrate activity information about third-party products, such as smart garage door openers. With the formation of API, I will continue to follow this message and add updates.
