II. Installation and deployment

VCSA installation is divided into two phases, so let's start the first phase.

2.1 after opening it, click the install button directly

2.5 choose the location of vcsa deployment, you can enter vc address or ESXi host address directly. It is recommended to enter ESXi host address directly.

2.6 warning of the certificate, click "Yes"

2.7. set the name of the virtual machine where the vcsa is located and keep it by default. Note: the password must be kept in mind.

2.8 deployment size, just choose according to your own needs.

2.9 Select the storage where the virtual machine is located. I have local storage here, so there is only one. Another thing to pay attention to is whether or not to enable thin disk mode, which depends on your deployment and planning of the entire cluster environment.

2.10 Network configuration, what you need to pay attention to in this place is FQDN

a. If you define it yourself, make sure that the FQDN can be parsed in the intranet. Or add local resolution.

b. If the intranet configuration is parsed, in the / etc/resolv.conf file, add DNS. The local parsing is written in / etc/hosts, otherwise the error will be reported during the second phase of installation.

2.11 the first phase is completed, waiting for the VCSA host to be created on the ESXi host

2.12 if this screen appears, it is a FQDN parsing problem. You can follow the prompts to access the installation through web. If you want to continue with the second phase, please press 2.10 to solve the problem.

3.1If your FQDN configuration is parsed and correct, then move on, if not the error summary at the end of the article.

Solution:

a. In the first phase of deployment, FQDN is not written, which will not affect the use, but it is IP when it is displayed after the deployment of vc.

b. After the first phase of deployment, log in to the VCSA virtual machine and add parsing in / etc/hosts.

Note: the installation process is very simple, basically there will be no problems, the most prone to problems is the FQDN part, if you test, you can not write. If it's a production environment, try it the way I said.
