The difference between modal and modeless instructions:

Modeless instruction: valid only in the program segment used, and the instruction function is automatically cancelled at the end of the program segment

Modal instruction: a set of instructions that can cancel each other. Once executed, such instructions remain in effect until they are logged off by other instructions in the same group.

For example:

N001 G91 G01 X10 Y10 Zmuri 2 F150 M03 S1500

N002 X15

N003 G02 X20 Y20 I20 J0

N004 G90 G00 X0 Y0 Z100 M02

Description:

1) three modal instructions G91, G01 and M03 appear in the first paragraph, all of which are renewed because of their different groups, in which the G91 function continues to expire when G90 appears in the fourth paragraph; the G01 function continues to be valid in the second paragraph and is cancelled when G02 appears in the third paragraph; the M03 function does not expire until the fourth paragraph M02 comes into effect.

2) the "*" in column (3) of Table 2-3 and the "*" in column (5) of Table 2-4 are modeless instructions, and their functions are valid only in the program segments that appear.

3) column (2) of Table 2-4 has the M instruction "*", whose function starts at the same time as the actions of other instructions in the same paragraph. The M instruction "*" is shown in column (3) of Table 2-4, and its function begins after the completion of other instruction actions in the same paragraph.
