Choose the fuel deployment tool (mirantis fuel openstack) to install. Since the image provided by the official website cannot be installed on the physical machine through U disk, choose to install the master node on the virtual machine to deploy the physical child node.
Hardware requirements: BIOS enables virtualization support (intel VT-d). At least 3 physical machines, and the physical machine where the master node is located is installed with Ubuntu16.04. The rest of the hosts are used as child nodes. Each physical machine has at least three network cards.
Install the primary node
1. Install kvm on host
Sudo apt-get install qemu-kvm libvirt-bin bridge-utils virt-manager
Restart the machine and make sure you can use virt-manager
two。 Establish a deployment network, through which the master node discovers child nodes and deploys the OPNFV environment
Open virt-manager, add virtual network, subnet is set to 10.20.0.0 fuel 24 (default setting of NAT), disable DHCP, set to NAT mode (primary node needs to be connected)
3. Create a virtual machine, select the downloaded fuel image, and set the network card to the deployment network you just added
Start the installation, because the network settings are the same as the default settings of fuel, press f8 to exit directly when the following interface appears
After the installation is complete, a prompt will appear. The default web interface is https://10.20.0.2:8443, both the user name and password are admin.
You can use ssh to log in to the primary node ssh root@10.20.0.2 with a password of r00tme.
* if you only need to deploy the OpenStack environment, the configuration of the primary node ends here. If you need to configure the OPNFV environment, log in to the primary node with ssh and use fuel plugins-- install / opt/opnfv/-. Install plugins. Opt/opnfv in the / directory.
Child node settin
1. Network Settin
Deploy the network (10.20.0.0Comp24), which is the virtual network of the host host of the main node. In order to connect the child nodes to the network, it is necessary to add a network card on the host computer to the virtual network, and then connect the network card to the physical hub port.
Run ifconfig on the host and find the name of the virtual bridge with ip 10.20.0.1, as shown in the following figure. The name is virbr1.
Running sudo brctl addif on the host to add a physical network card to the virtual network will be connected to a hub port. Connect a network card of all child nodes to the hub. Deployment of the network to this configuration is complete.
Management network (network1, network2), where the management network refers to the network (management network, storage network, private network) used by the nodes in the OPNFV/OpenStack environment to communicate with each other, and does not require the participation of the master node. The specific configuration of these networks is set in the web interface of the primary node, which only explains how to connect the network card. Using 1-3 hub to form 1-3 separate networks, each sub-node selects 1-3 network cards to connect with these hub ports respectively.
An open network (public network) through which users use the Horizon interface of OpenStack. If you are deploying a private cloud, you can choose a subnet as you like. The default is 172.16.0.0 public 24. For simplicity, you can directly use the method of establishing a deployment network (pxe network) to establish a public virtual network, and you only need to change the subnet domain. Notice disable DHCP. In order to make the created instance online, set up NAT. If you are deploying an open cloud, you need an IP pool of the public network, and make some changes in the deployment settings.
two。 Startup Settin
Enter the BIOS interface of the child node, start the enable PXE network, and adjust the startup order so that the first one is the network startup. Start the child node.
Deployment node
Because the host where the primary node is located is connected to the deployment network (10.20.0.0) and the public network (172.16.0.0), it can access both the deployment web interface (https://10.20.0.2:8443) and the OpenStack Horizon interface after deployment), and the following operations can be performed on the host.
First, create a new OpenStack environment, which you can choose according to your needs. If you are deploying OPNFV, set up the environment based on the fuel documentation provided officially by OPNFV.
Then add nodes to the newly created environment. After the child node starts successfully, the web interface prompts you. Assign roles (controller, compute, storage, etc.) to the node, at least one controller and one compute node.
Next, configure the node network card (click Nodes, select the node, click config interfaces). The PXE network has been configured. You only need to configure public network correctly according to the network settings, and then configure other networks to the network card connected to other networks (network1, network2).
Finally, check the network connectivity, if there is an error, carefully check the configuration of the network card in the previous step, as well as the connection of each port. After the verification is successful, you can click deploy changes to deploy.
