Due to the need of production, an AIX minicomputer expands the capacity of the / sapdata directory from 90g to 210g, adding 120g of space. The EMC storage at the back end of the Aix minicomputer is connected through an optical switch. First of all, RAID the idle hard disk on EMC storage, divide the LUN, and map it to the production AIX minicomputer.

After EMC has finished LUN mapping, execute cfgmgr on AIX, and then lspv will deny the newly expanded hard disk.

Then execute smitty hacmp--- System Management (C-SPOC)-HACMP Logical Volume Management--- Shared Volume Groups-- Set Characteristics of a Shared Volume Group-- Add a Volume to a Shared Volume Group-- to select the VG-- enter that needs to be expanded, and then select the added hard disk-OK. Then expand the file system. # smitty chfs-change/show charactertistics of an enhanced journaled file system- Select the file system to be expanded-then press enter to continue.

If there is an error in file system expansion, it is usually the Block size of the file system or the original LV size of the volume that limits the maximum capacity expansion space. You can # smitty hacmp--- System Management (C-SPOC)-- HACMP Logical Volume Management--- Shared file systems---enhanced journaled file systems---change/show characteristics of a shared enhanced journaled file system- selects the file system to modify the block size, and then you can successfully expand the file system. Note: you can modify the size of LV through # smitty chlv.
