VCenter is an important component to enhance the functionality of ESXi. Put ESXi into vCenter and log in to vCenter cluster management. And some advanced features, including cloning virtual machines, high availability, and so on, rely on vCenter.

This article describes how to install the various components of vCenter.

The prerequisites for installing vCenter are:

Domain server

Database server

Various construction of vCenter

Click the above service name to view their installation method accordingly

Configure ODBC

To configure ODBC on a vCenter server, you first need to install the client of the database. Load the database installation ISO and run the installation.

In the feature selection, you only need to select the option of the client.

Click the start menu and select the ODBC data source (64-bit)

When selecting a database client program, you should choose the newly installed one, and select the second one in the following figure.

As shown in the following figure, select system DSN and add

Enter your sa account here to log in to the database.

Note: here you need to select the default database. If the database created earlier appears, the connection is basically successful. If you can't connect, you can see if it's a database firewall problem.

You can test whether the data source is connected successfully at the end.
