3, the version of the database, what kind of version also determines what kind of migration mode, the edge database has 9i, 10g, 11g and other versions, the core database is 9i. Exp/imp,10g is used for the small capacity migration of edge database 9i to 11g, and expdp/impdp is used for 11g to 11g, followed by which components are installed in each version, such as XDB, XML,XDK, etc., these components migrate to 11g compatibility, in fact, the most important thing in the version survey is to affect the migration mode.

4, database backup, what are the current database backup methods, rman or expdp, backup strategy and backup frequency and so on. After this survey, it is found that some edge databases are not backed up, which feels like a mistake at work. Although it is an unimportant edge database, it is necessary to retain dmp files for about 7 days.

5, database server, the database is hosted on the server, so the database server should also be taken into account. The version of the core database operating system, the current frequency of CPU (number * frequency * core) what is the average usage value of CPU, what is the peak value of CPU, the memory capacity of the operating system, the utilization rate of recent memory, whether there is pageout or pagein exchange, the usage of various directories of the operating system, and whether or not raid protection has been done. At present, edge databases are all windows, some database data are directly stored on the local hard disk, some do raid, some do not do any protection, all rely on backup, all the above backup is very important, especially need to have multiple places to store backup.

6, storage, here is mainly the core database storage, considering the existing data capacity, how much capacity is increased each year, how much capacity is needed for backup (backup storage strategy), how much capacity is required for logs (how many logs are generated each day and how long they are stored)
