Shulou(Shulou.com)06/03 Report--
1. Automatic testing for initial keyword recognition
Keyword driven testing (Keyword-driven) simplifies the testing work from complicated test programming to the maintenance of test steps, making automated testing relatively easy. Therefore, keyword-driven testing contributes to the wide application of automation.
QuickTest allows you to record actions performed on the object under test (website or application). When performing certain actions on a Web site or application under test, QuickTest displays the action "steps" performed as rows in the keyword view in the form of an object icon.
You can insert checkpoints into the test script during the recording of the tested object or in post-editing the test script. " Checkpoint compares the properties and property values of the objects captured during the recording of the test object with the values of the same object properties captured during the run (playback) session. " Checkpoints can help test engineers to determine as soon as possible whether the website or application under test is working properly and whether it meets the design requirements.
In the actual testing work, when testing the tested object (website or application), some test scenarios want to test the similarities and differences of the test results of different test data in the same operation scenario. Summing up these test scenarios, you will find that during the execution of these test scenarios, the test operations (steps) are exactly the same, but the test data are different. QuickTest can meet these test requirements by "parameterizing" the values of the test objects.
The checkpoint and parameterization mentioned above can be done through QuickTest automation.
two。 Manage testing
You can create, open, save, compress, and decompress test scripts through some of the action buttons in File or Toolbar in the menu bar. It also performs operations such as printing on the recorded test script.
2.1 create a new test script
1. Create a new test script through QuickTest. QuickTest creates test scripts in two ways:
Method 1: click New in the toolbar
Button, as shown in figure 4.1.
Method 2: select [File]-[New]-[Test], and a new test will be opened.
two。 As shown in the figure, after creating a new test script, click the [Record] button on the test toolbar to bring up the Record and Run Settings dialog box.
3. Select Windows Applications in the Record and Run Settings window.
4. Under the Windows Applications tab, click add Windows Applications Application (QuickTest comes with the Flight application) as shown in the figure.
5. After adding the tested object (QuickTest comes with the Flight application), you can observe the added tested application in the list of programs in the Record and Run Settings dialog box. Then click OK in the Record and Run Settings dialog box. You can observe that the [Record] button in the QuickTest test toolbar dims from red and opens the Flight sample that comes with QuickTest.
6. As shown in the figure, do the following in the Flight login interface: enter the value of Agent Name/Password (Mercury/mercury) and click OK. Then click [Stop] on the test toolbar to stop recording the script. The recording steps can be observed in the QuickTest test window. At this point, the process of creating and recording a new test script is over.
2.2 Save the test script
After the test script has been recorded, you can save the new test script or the changes made to the existing test script through QuickTest. When QuickTest saves a test script, any test script resource files associated with the test script are saved.
Note:
If you want to save the current test script under a different name or save the test script as a copy, use the Save as option in QuickTest. You cannot copy a test or change its name directly in the file system or in Quality Center.
To save a new test script:
1. As shown in the figure, click the Save button in the toolbar, or select [File]-[Save] on the menu bar to save the recorded test script. Click QuickTest "Save" and pop up the "Save Test" dialog box.
two。 In the Save Test dialog box, select the directory where the test scripts are stored. The QuickTest default test script is saved in the "Tests" folder under the QuickTest Professional installation path.
3. In the Save Test dialog box, type the name of the test Flight in the File name area.
Note:
1. If you want to save the Active Screen file with the test, make sure "Save Active Screen files" is selected
two。 Clearing the Save Active Screen files check box is particularly useful for saving disk space.
4. Click [Save] in the Save Test dialog box to save the test script. After saving the test script, you can observe that the test script has changed from test* to the saved test script name Flight in the QuickTest title bar.
Save changes to existing tests
1. When you make changes to the existing script, click the Save button to save the modified test script.
two。 Select the menu bar [File]-[Save As], and save the test script with a new name or in a new location through the Save as dialog box.
Select [File]-[Save As] pop-up Save as dialog box.
Set whether QuickTest saves the Active Screen file with the test script when QuickTest saves the test script by selecting or clearing the Save Active Screen files check box.
As shown in the figure, set whether the existing test results should be saved with the test script when QuickTest saves the test script by selecting or clearing the Save test results check box.
Note:
If you clear the Save test results check box, the test results file will not be saved and you will not be able to view the test results through the results Viewer later. If you do not need to analyze the test results during the test, clear the Save Test results check box. Setting not to save test results is useful for saving disk space.
2.3 Open a copy of the test script
1. As shown in the figure, click the Open button in the toolbar, or select [File]-[Open]-[Test] from the menu bar to open the Open Test dialog box.
two。 As shown in the figure, select an existing test in the Open Test dialog box and select the previously saved Flight. Select the "Open in read-only mode" option at the bottom of the "Open Test" dialog box, click [Open], and open the selected test script with the test name in the title bar.
2.4 Compression and decompression of test scripts
1. Compress the test script
As shown in the figure, in the menu bar, select [File]-[Export Test to Zip File … ] . The Export to Zip File dialog box opens.
In the Export to Zip File dialog box, set the archive (zip) file name and path, or keep the default name and path, and then click OK. QuickTest compresses the Flight test script and its associated resource files, such as test results.
two。 Extract the test script
As shown in the figure, in the menu bar, select [File]-[Import Test from Zip File … ], the Import from Zip File dialog box opens.
In the Import from Zip File dialog box, set or select the compressed file that needs to be unzipped in Zip file, select the destination folder where the compressed file needs to be extracted, and then click [OK]. QuickTest unzips the test script and the associated resource file, and then opens the unzipped test script Flight through QuickTest.
