Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
This article will explain in detail what is the server solution for Suse application Telnet. The content of the article is of high quality, so the editor will share it with you for reference. I hope you will have a certain understanding of the relevant knowledge after reading this article.
I have encountered some problems in installing Suse these days. Today, I mainly want to talk to you about the problem of configuring Telnet server with Suse. The default installation of Suse includes the Telnet client, but does not include the Suse configuration Telnet server, so you need to install and configure the system yourself after installing the system. Here are the specific steps:
I. installation
Suse provides a graphical Yast management console, which is very easy to use.
1. Yast → Software → Software Management, open the software manager
2. Select Package Groups in the Filter on the left, select Productivity → Networking → Other in the tree list of Package Groups, select telent-server in the software list that appears on the right, and click the Accept button below to prompt you to insert the CD.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts to insert the required CD (here is CD4), and the system will automatically start the installation.
II. Configuration
After installation, the Telnet service is managed by the xinetd service, and the Telnet service is turned off by default, so modify its configuration file to open the service. The configuration file of telent is located in the / etc/xinetd.d/ directory and is named Telnet. Open the file and modify it as follows:
Disable = yes → disable = no
As you can see from the comments in the Telnet file, the default state is off, that is, default: off.
After the modification, restart the xinetd service with the following command:
Service xinetd restart
After the xinetd service restarts successfully, the Telnet service starts at the same time.
Third, set up a firewall
After the above steps, although telent has been turned on, due to the limitations of the Suse firewall, other machines cannot use Telnet to access the machine, so it is also necessary to open the firewall restrictions on port 23 used by Telnet. The steps are as follows:
1. Yast → Security and Users → Firewall, open firewall settings
2. Select Allowed Services in the list on the left. Since there is no Telnet service in Services to Allow, its advanced settings are used. Click the Advance button to add 23 to the TCP Ports.
Notice that the delimiter between the values in TCP Ports is a space.
3. Click OK → Next → Accept.
After the above three steps, you can test the Telnet service on other machines. In this way, you will know how to configure the Telnet server with Suse.
On the Suse application Telnet server solution is shared here, I hope that the above content can be of some help to you, can learn more knowledge. If you think the article is good, you can share it for more people to see.
